Vertical cling, longer dwell, faster lift - oil paint removal that stays put.
Oil-based coatings don’t give up easy. On trim, doors, railings, and masonry, runny strippers slide off, flash too fast, and force extra passes. Crews waste time babysitting verticals, scraping half-soft films, and cleaning drips that stain adjacent surfaces. Heat guns risk scorching wood and uneven profile on mineral substrates. Rework and cleanup chew margins.
SaraWest Oil Paint Strip Gel is built to stay where you put it. A high-solids gel matrix locks a tuned solvent package against the film, softening oil-binder networks without biting the substrate. The gel wets out evenly, resists sag, and maintains an extended open time for a full lift in fewer passes. On wood and mineral surfaces, it clings to detail profiles, reaches into pores, and releases coatings cleanly for faster recoat prep.
Formulated and filled in Pampa, Texas, by a team with four decades of formulation work, every batch runs through disciplined QC before it leaves our 30,000 sq ft facility. We supply contractor-grade performance you can put your brand on - consistent viscosity, color targets, and label/pack options for private-label programs. Dependable chemistry, factory-direct support, and no fluff.
- Vertical-cling gel extends dwell on trim, doors, and masonry without sag.
- Solvent system targets oil-binder networks, lifting films without substrate bite.
- High-solids body reduces drip loss and improves real coverage per gallon.
- Wipes or rinses clean, preserving wood grain and mineral surface profile.
- Contractor-paced open time resists flash-off across common jobsite temperatures.
- Batch-to-batch consistency built for white-label and distributor programs.
Ready-to-use. Do not dilute.
Prep: Protect adjacent finishes, sealants, and flooring. Provide ventilation. Wear chemical-resistant PPE. Remove loose debris. Test a small, inconspicuous area to confirm dwell and compatibility.
Application: Apply a uniform 10–20 mil wet film by brush, roller, or airless spray with a heavy tip. Work from the bottom up on verticals to prevent runs.
Dwell: Allow 15–60 minutes at 60–85°F, checking periodically. Cooler conditions increase dwell; warmer surfaces shorten it. Keep the film wet; reapply to dry spots as needed. For heavy build, extend dwell or cover with poly to prevent evaporation.
Removal: Scrape softened paint with a broad knife or stiff brush, collecting waste. For porous mineral substrates, follow with a wet scrub and rinse. On wood, wipe residues and allow to dry before sanding or priming.
Conditions: Best results above 50°F. Avoid hot direct sun and strong wind that accelerate flash-off. Always follow site SOPs and local regulations for waste handling.
- Often clears multiple oil-paint coats in a single application cycle
- Maintains workable dwell 15–60 minutes on verticals at 60–85°F
- Reduces rework by 1–2 passes versus thin liquid removers
- Cuts drip loss on vertical and overhead surfaces
- Leaves wood grain and masonry profile ready for recoat prep
