Stock and production status are confirmed at order review. Do not rely on a general lead time: availability depends on the SKU, quantity, packaging and current production schedule.
Also asked as: Is this available now? · When will my order ship? · Is it ready to produce? · What is current inventory? · Do you have stock?
- Do you offer drop shipping or consumer fulfillment?

Also asked as: How long does shipping take? · What is your turnaround on stock orders? · Do you ship on pallets? · Can I get a liftgate delivery?

Also asked as: What fragrances do you offer? · Can I get a custom scent? · Do you have unscented options? · Which essential oils do you use?

Private label & manufacturing
- What is the private-label manufacturing minimum?
For an unchanged SaraWest stock formula under your label, the starting minimum can be 1,000 units per SKU. The standard manufacturing minimum is 2,000 units per SKU, and custom chemistry or complex packaging may require more. Format-specific bulk minimums are confirmed in the quote.
Also asked as: What is your MOQ for private label? · Can I start with 100 bottles? · Can you do a small test run? · What is the minimum for my own brand? · Can I order 500 units?
- What are the minimums for gallons, pails and drums?
Current custom manufacturing minimums are 1,000 units for bottles and 1 gallon jugs, 200 units for 5 gallon pails, and 15 units for 55 gallon drums. Formula, package and specialist requirements can change the final quoted minimum.
Also asked as: How many one gallon jugs do I need to buy? · How many five gallon buckets is the minimum? · What is the MOQ for 5 gallon buckets? · What is the minimum for drums? · Can I buy 15 drums? · How many pails is a production run?
- Can I start below the manufacturing MOQ?
The approved-business storefront is the practical route for smaller purchases of available SaraWest products. A bulk or self-fill arrangement may be reviewed for some projects, but a small finished private-label run is often not economical and cannot be promised before technical and packaging review.
Also asked as: My budget is under $1,000 · I only need a few cases · Can I validate demand first? · Can you make 50 units? · What is the cheapest way to start?
- Do I need my own formula?
No. The fastest route is usually an approved SaraWest base formula. SaraWest can also review a production-ready formula you own, a benchmark product, a modification request or a new custom-development brief.
Also asked as: Can I use one of your formulas? · I have an idea but no formula · I already have a formula · Can you duplicate a benchmark product? · Can you reverse engineer a product?
- What is the difference between a base formula and custom development?
A base-formula project uses established SaraWest chemistry and is the fastest path. A modified-base project changes agreed attributes. Custom R&D covers more substantial formulation, testing or process work and receives a separate scope and price.
Also asked as: What does white label mean? · Can you change your existing formula? · What counts as custom? · Is private label the same as formulation?
- What does formulation development cost?
Published formulation paths begin at $1,000 for an agreed standard base project and typically total $2,000 when agreed modifications are required. More involved optimization and custom R&D are separately scoped and may begin around $5,000, with complex programs costing more. The written proposal controls.
Also asked as: How much is R&D? · What is the formula development fee? · How much to customize a formula? · What does it cost to create a product? · Is there a development deposit?
- Is the development or sample fee credited to production?
Only a written project proposal can create a production credit. Development and sample fees are not automatically credited, and the proposal will state any eligible amount, order condition and timing.
Also asked as: Do I get my deposit back? · Is the sample money applied to my MOQ? · Will R&D be refunded on my order? · Does the development fee come off production?
- What information is needed for a manufacturing quote?
Provide the intended product and use, formula status or benchmark, fill size, package and closure, first-run quantity per SKU, expected annual volume, sales channels and markets, delivery destination, target launch date, target cost or retail price, proposed claims and any testing or retailer requirements. Start at /contact?intent=start-project.
Also asked as: What do you need from me to price my project? · How can I get a quote? · What questions are on the intake form? · What should I send sales? · I am ready to manufacture
- How long does product development and production take?
Some approved existing-formula projects with available materials may move into production roughly 2 to 4 weeks after scope, artwork, materials, packaging and payment are complete. Custom programs may take 60 to 120 days or longer. These are planning ranges, not guaranteed delivery dates; your written schedule controls.
Also asked as: What is your lead time? · How fast can you make it? · Can you launch in 30 days? · How long does R&D take? · When could production start?
- Can I choose a fragrance, color or other variation?
Stock options usually provide the simplest path. Changes require formula, stability, compatibility and purchasing review. Non-stock fragrances can increase the minimum, often to about 3,000 units, because ingredients may need to be purchased in bulk. Final terms are project-specific.
Also asked as: Can I pick a scent? · Can you make it fragrance free? · Can I change the color? · Can I use essential oils? · Can I have multiple scents?
- Can I split one MOQ across several scents or SKUs?
Each formula, fragrance, color, fill size, package or label can create a separate SKU and production setup. A split is possible only when the written quote approves it; do not assume multiple variations can share one minimum.
Also asked as: Can I mix fragrances in my 1,000 units? · Can I have several labels in one run? · Can I split the production run? · Does every scent have its own MOQ?
- Can SaraWest use my formula or benchmark sample?
Yes, subject to technical, safety, sourcing and process review. Send only a non-confidential summary first, request an NDA if needed, and identify whether you own the formula or are supplying a benchmark for evaluation.
Also asked as: Can I send you my recipe? · Can you match a competitor product? · Will you manufacture my existing formula? · Can I mail a sample to copy?
- Who owns a developed formula?
Under the standard model, SaraWest retains ownership of its formulas and manufacturing process. Ownership, licensing, exclusivity or technology transfer must be negotiated in writing; development fees do not automatically purchase formula ownership.
Also asked as: Will I own the recipe? · Is my formula exclusive? · Can you sell the same formula to someone else? · Can I buy the intellectual property? · Do I get the formula after R&D?
- Can SaraWest sign an NDA?
Yes. Request an NDA before sharing proprietary formulas, confidential specifications or trade secrets. Keep the initial inquiry non-confidential; an NDA does not itself approve the project, price or production slot.
Also asked as: Do you have a confidentiality agreement? · Can we sign an MNDA? · How do I protect my idea? · Should I send my secret formula?
- Does SaraWest provide sales, marketing or retail placement?
SaraWest is the formulation and manufacturing partner. Your business owns commercialization, sales and distribution. Builder Studio can help model pricing, margins and a business plan, but it does not guarantee retailer placement or sales.
Also asked as: Will you sell the product for me? · Can you get me into retailers? · Do you help with marketing? · Can you guarantee sales? · Will you find distributors?
- What is the difference between private label and custom manufacturing?
Private label puts an existing SaraWest base formulation under your brand, which is faster and lower risk. Custom manufacturing develops a formula to your brief, which takes longer and needs a reviewed project and written proposal. See /white-label and /contract-manufacturing.
Also asked as: Should I private label or develop my own formula? · What does white label mean here? · Can you make my own recipe? · Private label vs contract manufacturing
- What are your production minimums?
Per SKU: 1,000 units for sizes up to 64 oz, 500 units for 1 gallon, 500 for 5 gallon, 10 drums for 55 gallon and 5 totes. Each SKU meets its own minimum; minimums cannot be split across scents, sizes or formulas.
Also asked as: What is your MOQ? · Can I split the minimum across scents? · How many units do I have to order? · Minimum order quantity for private label
- Who owns the formula you develop for me?
Formulas built from SaraWest catalog bases remain SaraWest intellectual property, and you own your brand, artwork and labels. Ownership of anything beyond that is defined in the written project agreement. Mutual NDAs are available and signed through Zoho Sign.
Also asked as: Do I own my formula? · Is the recipe mine? · Will you sign an NDA? · Formula ownership and IP
- Can you match or reverse engineer a product I already sell?
SaraWest can review a benchmark product and work toward comparable performance, appearance and feel within a development project. Exact duplication of a competitor's protected formula or trademarked scent is not offered. Send the benchmark details at /contact.
Also asked as: Can you copy this product? · Can you match a competitor formula? · I want a dupe of another brand · Reverse engineer my current supplier's formula
- Do you do toll blending or fill product I already have a formula for?
Tell the team the formula, raw materials, batch size, packaging and documentation you already have. Toll blending and customer-supplied formula work is reviewed case by case for safety, equipment fit and component compatibility before any quote. Send details at /contact.
Also asked as: Can you blend my formula? · Toll blending services · I have my own recipe and raw materials · Contract filling only
Packaging & labels
- Can SaraWest source bottles, closures and packaging?
SaraWest can source common bottles, jars, tins, jugs, pails, drums and closures, or assess customer-supplied components. Fit, chemical compatibility, line compatibility, availability and cost must be confirmed. Stock packaging is usually the simplest launch path.
Also asked as: Do you provide bottles? · Can you source trigger sprayers? · Can I choose the package? · Do you supply caps and pumps? · Can I send my own containers?
- How do custom printed labels work?
Custom labels are purchased upfront in batches of 5,000 individual roll labels, including the front-and-back configuration. Labels are applied by automatic equipment. SaraWest uses what the production run needs and holds the remainder for future orders with no storage fee or time limit.
Also asked as: How many labels must I buy? · What is the label MOQ? · Are labels supplied on rolls? · Why do I need 5,000 labels? · What happens to unused labels?
- What happens if my label artwork changes?
A new artwork version may require a new label batch. At your request, SaraWest can recycle unused labels from the previous version. Final print quantity and cost are confirmed after artwork, dieline, material and machine roll specifications are approved.
Also asked as: Can I update my label later? · What happens to old labels? · Can you recycle obsolete labels? · Do I pay again when artwork changes?
- How much do labels cost?
Label pricing depends on the container dieline, dimensions, front/back or wrap layout, material, finish, print specifications and quantity. Builder Studio can provide an approximate budget, but the final price is issued only after the package and production-ready artwork are reviewed.
Also asked as: Can you estimate label pricing? · What is the cost for 5,000 labels? · Does label size change the price? · Are labels included in manufacturing?
- Can SaraWest design my label?
Label design can be scoped separately and has commonly been quoted around $500. Printing, dielines, revisions, claims review and specialized compliance work are separate unless the written proposal includes them.
Also asked as: Do you create artwork? · Can you make my packaging design? · I do not have a label designer · What does label design cost?
- Can I send components to SaraWest or another fulfillment partner?
Customer-supplied components and shipment to a 3PL can be reviewed, but every bottle, closure, label, case and logistics handoff must meet documented specifications. Do not purchase components until SaraWest confirms compatibility and receiving requirements in writing.
Also asked as: Can I buy my own bottles? · Can you fill packaging I supply? · Can the finished order go to my warehouse? · Can you ship components to my co-packer?
- Do you make pods, dissolvable sheets, aerosols or wipes?
No pods, no dissolvable laundry sheets and no aerosols. Wipes are supported as the wetting liquid in bulk only, not as finished converted wipe packs. Dry powder products are reviewed case by case. Liquids are the core capability.
Also asked as: Can you make laundry sheets? · Do you fill aerosol cans? · Can you make pods or capsules? · Do you make finished wipes?
- Can I use my own bottles, jars or unusual packaging?
Often yes, after review. Your components have to run on the fill and capping equipment, so the team checks neck finish, closure, material and stability first, sometimes with a line trial. Unusual formats such as gable-top, aluminum or glass are evaluated the same way.
Also asked as: Can I supply my own containers? · Do you fill glass bottles? · Can you use aluminum bottles? · Will my packaging run on your line?
- Where do bottles and closures come from, and how do labels work?
Components are sourced through established suppliers such as McKernan and Berlin. Labels are pressure-sensitive roll labels, commonly around 1,000 per roll, and you can supply artwork or print-ready files. Dielines and label specifications are provided for your package once it is selected.
Also asked as: Who supplies your bottles? · Do I need roll labels? · Can I get a dieline? · How many labels per roll?
Compliance & documents
- What technical documents are available?
SDS, TDS, COA and batch or quality documents are provided as applicable to the product and order. Ask for the exact document you need; not every document or test applies to every SKU, and retailer-specific work may require separate scope.
Also asked as: Can I get the SDS? · Do you provide an MSDS? · Can you send a COA? · Do you have a technical data sheet? · What batch documents come with the order?
- Can a product make disinfectant, sanitizer or antibacterial claims?
Those are regulated claims and cannot be assumed from a cleaner or hand soap. Submit the exact claim, use site and sales market for regulatory review. SaraWest will confirm whether the project, testing and registrations are eligible before any claim is used.
Also asked as: Can this kill germs? · Is the hand soap antibacterial? · Can you make an EPA disinfectant? · Does it sanitize? · Is it hospital grade?
- Are all SaraWest products natural or organic?
No single claim applies to the entire catalog. Ingredient origin and claim support are product-specific. Ask about the exact SKU and intended claim; 'natural,' 'plant-based,' 'organic,' 'non-toxic' and similar language require separate review and must not be assumed.
Also asked as: Is this all natural? · Are the ingredients plant based? · Is it organic? · Is it non toxic? · Do you use essential oils?
- Can you provide a complete ingredient list?
Ingredient disclosure depends on the product, regulatory category and project agreement. Ask for the exact SKU and intended market. SaraWest can confirm the appropriate ingredient, allergen, SDS or technical information without disclosing protected formula details.
Also asked as: What is in the product? · Can I see the INCI list? · Does it contain an allergen? · Will you disclose the formula? · Can I review ingredients before ordering?
- What testing is included?
Testing depends on product type, claims, package and sales channel. Stability, compatibility, performance, microbial, regulatory or retailer testing is scoped as applicable; no test or certification should be assumed unless it appears in the written proposal.
Also asked as: Do you stability test products? · Will you test bottle compatibility? · Do you do microbial testing? · Can you meet retailer testing requirements? · Is testing part of R&D?
- What is the product shelf life?
Shelf life is product- and package-specific. Use the approved specification, batch documentation or product page for the exact SKU. For a new private-label project, shelf-life support and required testing are confirmed during technical review.
Also asked as: How long will it last? · What is the expiration date? · Does this product expire? · How should it be stored?
- Can you make a disinfectant, sanitizer or antibacterial product?
No. SaraWest does not offer EPA-registered disinfectants or sanitizers, and the hand soap carries no antibacterial claim because that is an over-the-counter drug claim needing FDA review. Cleaning and odor-control performance is what SaraWest supports; label claims are your responsibility.
Also asked as: Is this EPA registered? · Does it kill germs or viruses? · Can my label say antibacterial? · Is your hand soap antibacterial?
- Can I get an SDS, TDS or certificate of analysis?
Safety data sheets and technical data sheets are provided for the products you buy or develop, and batch documentation such as a certificate of analysis is arranged per project. Tell the team the exact product and market so the right documents are issued. Ask at /contact or /resources.
Also asked as: Do you provide SDS? · I need a technical data sheet · Can I get a COA per batch? · What documentation comes with an order?
- Do you run stability testing and compliance testing?
Stability work such as freeze-thaw, elevated-temperature and packaging compatibility checks is scoped inside a development project. Registrations and third-party testing, including state-level requirements, are arranged and paid by the customer. Bring your target markets to /contact early.
Also asked as: Do you do freeze thaw testing? · Shelf life testing · Who pays for testing and registration? · Prop 65 and VOC compliance
- Do you ship to Canada or internationally?
Domestic US shipping is standard. Canadian and other international shipments depend on the product, its classification and the destination country's requirements, so they are reviewed case by case before a quote. Ask at /contact with the destination and product.
Also asked as: Can you ship to Canada? · Do you export? · International shipping · Can you send product overseas?
Samples
- Do you offer free samples?
No. Qualified B2B evaluation samples commonly cost $100 to $200 plus shipping, depending on product and scope. Custom prototypes are quoted separately. Finished storefront products can also be purchased for evaluation by approved businesses.

- Why do I have to pay for a sample?
Many catalog listings are base formulations prepared for a qualified project rather than stocked consumer samples. The fee covers materials, preparation and project handling. Exact contents, shipping and any potential production credit appear in the written proposal.
Also asked as: Why aren't samples free? · Why is there a sample deposit? · Are the formulations already made? · Do you keep every catalog product in stock?
- What happens after I approve a sample?
The team confirms the final formula, packaging, artwork, testing, quantity, price, payment terms and production schedule in writing. Sample approval alone does not reserve materials or a production date.

- Can I get free samples?
No. SaraWest does not send free catalog samples. Evaluation samples are prepared as part of a paid development project, and available storefront products can be purchased in their smallest offered format. See /request-samples.
