    Accessibility Statement

    Last updated: May 31, 2026

    Our Commitment

SaraWest is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, and the European Accessibility Act (EAA).

    Conformance Status

This website is designed and tested to substantially conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 and 2.2 Level AA published by the W3C Web Accessibility Initiative. "Substantially conforms" means the majority of the site meets the standard, with isolated exceptions noted under Known Limitations below. WCAG 2.2 was adopted to address the most recent success criteria (focus appearance, target size, dragging movements, and consistent help) that courts and the DOJ have increasingly cited.

We also align with Section 508 of the U.S. Rehabilitation Act (which references WCAG 2.0 AA at minimum) and the EN 301 549 European standard required under the European Accessibility Act, which took effect on June 28, 2025.

    Measures We Take

    • Semantic HTML & landmarks: Every page exposes a single main landmark, a logical heading order, and ARIA roles where native semantics are insufficient.
    • Keyboard navigation: All interactive elements, including the mega menu, mobile drawer, dialogs, and forms, are fully operable by keyboard with visible focus indicators that meet WCAG 2.2 SC 2.4.11 (Focus Not Obscured) and SC 2.4.13 (Focus Appearance).
    • Color contrast: Text meets a minimum 4.5:1 ratio (3:1 for large text and non-text UI components), verified against our design tokens.
    • Target size: Interactive controls meet the WCAG 2.2 SC 2.5.8 minimum target size of 24×24 CSS pixels, with primary controls sized to 44×44 for mobile.
    • Alternative text: All meaningful images include descriptive alt text; decorative images use alt="" and are hidden from assistive tech.
    • Skip navigation: A "Skip to main content" link is the first focusable element on every page.
    • Resizable text: Layouts remain functional and readable when text is zoomed to 200% and when the viewport is reflowed to 320 CSS pixels (SC 1.4.10 Reflow).
    • Forms: Every input has a programmatically associated label, errors are announced via aria-live regions, and autocomplete tokens are set on personal-data fields (SC 1.3.5).
    • Reduced motion: The site honors prefers-reduced-motion and disables non-essential animation and parallax for users who request it.
    • Consistent help: The contact, "Talk to a chemist," and sample-request entry points appear in the same location across pages (SC 3.2.6 Consistent Help).
    • Authentication: Our login does not require cognitive-function tests such as solving puzzles or memorizing characters (SC 3.3.8 Accessible Authentication).
    • No dragging-only actions: Any action that uses a drag gesture is also achievable with a single pointer click or tap (SC 2.5.7 Dragging Movements).

    Assessment Approach

SaraWest evaluates accessibility through a combination of:

    • Automated testing using axe-core, Lighthouse, and WAVE on every release.
    • Manual keyboard and screen-reader testing with VoiceOver (macOS / iOS), NVDA (Windows), and TalkBack (Android).
    • Design-system audits of color contrast, focus states, and target sizes against our Tailwind token library.

    Compatibility

The site is designed to be compatible with the latest two major versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari on desktop and mobile, paired with current versions of NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, and TalkBack.

    Known Limitations

Despite our best efforts, some content may not yet be fully accessible. Known areas under active remediation:

    • Some third-party embedded content (maps, video players, social embeds) may not fully meet WCAG; we work with vendors to remediate or provide accessible alternatives.
    • Older PDF specification sheets predating 2025 may not be fully tagged. Accessible versions are available on request via the contact information below.
    • Product photography may rely on descriptive captions rather than full alt text where the surrounding heading and copy already describe the item.

    Feedback & Contact

We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of this Site. If you encounter accessibility barriers or have suggestions for improvement, please contact us:

We aim to acknowledge accessibility feedback within 2 business days and to provide a substantive response within 10 business days. If your request cannot be resolved in that window we will provide a status update and an estimated remediation date.

    Formal Approval & Review

This statement was prepared and approved by SaraWest on the date shown above and is reviewed at least quarterly. It applies to the website at sarawestusa.com and its subdomains.

    Enforcement

If you are not satisfied with our response, U.S. residents may file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Justice, Civil Rights Division (ADA Information Line, ada.gov), or with the appropriate state attorney general's office.
