Non-sag gel that strips epoxy and 2K coatings where liquids fail.
Vertical steel, tanks, handrails, and housings don’t give you second chances. Liquid removers slide off, streak, and waste labor. Grinding throws dust and heat, risks profile damage, and chews up shutdown windows. Overhead work gets worse - runs, drips, and constant reapplication turn a simple strip job into a long, unsafe slog.
Epoxy Strip Gel is our vertical-grade answer. A thixotropic, high-build gel stays put on vertical and overhead surfaces, delivering aggressive solvency that breaks down crosslinked epoxies, 2K urethanes, and other industrial coatings. It holds a heavy film without sagging, resists flash-off, and maintains activity for hours under plastic - so you get full penetration, fewer passes, and less cleanup. Rinses clean to a sound substrate ready for the next surface-prep step.
Made in Pampa, Texas at our 30,000 sq ft facility, backed by nearly 40 years of formulation work in strippers and surface prep chemistries. We offer it factory-direct under your label with options for indicator tint, viscosity, and packaging from 1.3 gal pails to drums and totes. Consistent batches, tight QC, and real support - built for contractors, OEM maintenance teams, and distributors who need a vertical stripper that simply performs.
- Non-sag thixotropic gel holds 60–90 mil build on vertical steel.
- Blended solvents and activators break crosslinks in epoxies and 2K urethanes.
- Long dwell window; won’t flash-dry, effective up to 8 hours covered.
- Rinseable finish minimizes secondary grinding and substrate damage.
- Works across 50–95°F shop conditions without losing cling or bite.
- Optional indicator tint verifies coverage on dark or complex geometries.
Use as supplied; do not dilute. Mask adjacent surfaces and test a small area. Apply a heavy, even coat by brush, roller, or trowel at 60–90 mil wet. For spray, use equipment rated for high-viscosity materials with low atomization. Work between 50–95°F. Avoid direct sun or strong airflow that can dry the surface.
Allow 30 minutes to several hours of dwell, depending on coating type, thickness, and temperature. Keep the gel wet; cover with plastic sheeting for extended dwell. Check progress by gently scraping - when the film lifts to substrate, proceed.
Remove loosened coating with a scraper, then rinse with hot water or pressure wash (150–180°F, 1500–3000 psi as appropriate to substrate and site rules). Collect and dispose of waste per regulations. Repeat if heavy multi-coat systems remain. After stripping, allow the surface to dry before final surface prep and recoating.
- Removes 2–5 coats or 4–12 mils of epoxy in one pass.
- Clings without sagging on verticals and overhead for up to 8 hours.
- Delivers 40–80 sq ft per gallon coverage, depending on film build.
- Cuts blasting or grinding time on vertical work by 30–50%.
- Rinse-clean finish reduces solvent wipe steps by 1–2 passes.
Distributors add layers and margin without improving performance. We formulate and fill in Pampa, Texas, so you buy factory-direct chemistry with full control of viscosity, tint, and packaging. Nearly four decades in coatings removal means faster dwell, stronger cling, and cleaner rinsing - backed by consistent batch QC. Private label under your brand, avoid distributor markups, and get dependable lead times from a US plant that knows industrial stripping inside and out.
