Heavy tar on verticals? This gel clings, dissolves, and rinses clean.
Tar, bitumen, tectyl sealer, and undercoating don’t just stain - they lock up labor. Scrapers gouge paint. Solvent sprays run off verticals. Heat guns scorch substrates. And on porous concrete or masonry, petroleum bonds deep and spreads, slowing crews and tying up equipment bays. Contractors and fleet shops need a way to break heavy petroleum films without babysitting runoff or chewing through rags and time.
Tar Guard Remover Gel answers with solvency that sticks. Its high-strength gel matrix wets out thick deposits, clings to vertical and overhead surfaces, and dissolves heavy petroleum compounds so they release under a rinse. Use it on durable painted metal, concrete, masonry, and bare metals after a quick spot test. Controlled evaporation extends dwell in wind or sun, while the gel body limits drip to keep chemistry where it’s working, not on the ground.
Formulated and filled in our 30,000 sq ft plant in Pampa, Texas, this is contract-grade chemistry built for operators. We supply factory-direct in 34 oz, 1.3 gal, and 5 gal, with bulk drums and totes for programs. Put your label on it or let us match your spec - viscosity, scent, color, and packaging dialed to your brand without distributor markups or delays.
- Gel matrix clings to verticals and undersides, maximizing dwell without runoff.
- High solvency blend breaks tar, bitumen, tectyl, and undercoating residues fast.
- Rinses clean with water or detergent; minimizes shadowing on non‑porous finishes.
- Works on porous and non‑porous substrates after spot test and dwell control.
- Integrates with pressure‑wash workflows in shop or field conditions.
- Factory-direct private label with consistent batch-to-batch performance.
Use full-strength. Test in an inconspicuous area first.
Preparation: Remove loose soil. Protect sensitive plastics, fresh paint, bituminous membranes, and rubber components not being cleaned. Work in shade when possible.
Application: Apply a liberal, even coat by brush or low‑pressure sprayer. For heavy buildup, apply a second pass to keep the area visibly wetted with gel. Allow 3–10 minutes of dwell at 50–95°F. Extend dwell in cooler conditions; reduce on warm surfaces to prevent premature drying.
Agitation and removal: Agitate with a stiff nylon brush on stubborn deposits. Rinse with a pressure washer (800–1,200 psi for painted surfaces; 1,500–3,000 psi for bare metal, concrete, or masonry) using a wide fan tip. Repeat if necessary on porous substrates.
Notes: Do not allow gel to dry. For vertical or overhead work, maintain a wet edge. Collect and dispose of spent material according to local regulations. Wear appropriate PPE.
- Dissolves typical tar and bitumen deposits within 3–10 minutes of dwell.
- Cuts manual scraping time by up to 60% versus dry mechanical methods.
- Typical coverage 150–300 sq ft per gallon, depending on buildup thickness.
- Reduces pressure-washing time per vehicle or panel by 5–10 minutes.
- Removes undercoating overspray on metal with <10% residue after one pass.
