Thick gel stripper that clings and cuts plastisol and roof coatings.
Roof and panel crews lose hours fighting plastisol and acrylic topcoats that won’t let go. Liquids run off vertical ribs, flashing, and fasteners before they work. Heat, wind, and sun bake coatings harder while drips waste product and create cleanup headaches. More scraping, more passes, more downtime - especially on factory-finished metal where you can’t afford to scar the substrate.
Plastisol Strip Gel was built for that job. It’s a high-solvency, thixotropic remover that stays put on vertical and overhead surfaces, pushes through plastisol, acrylics, and roof sheet coatings, and releases films cleanly. The gel body extends dwell, reduces run-off, and helps lift multi-mil builds in fewer passes. Apply, wait for lift, scrape or rinse, and move on. It’s engineered for use on galvanized, aluminum, and coated steel when used as directed - start with a test patch and don’t let it dry out.
Made in Pampa, Texas, in our 30,000 sq ft facility, this is veteran formulating paired with reliable production control. We supply contractor-grade chemistry direct and support private-label programs without the distributor layers. Need your own brand, specific gel strength, color, or evaporation profile? We can dial it in and fill it - 1.3 gal and 5 gal - and support drums or totes on request.
- Thixotropic gel clings to vertical panels, maximizing dwell without runs.
- High-solvency system lifts plastisol and acrylic layers in fewer passes.
- Ready-to-use formula; no dilution, no sagging, predictable working time.
- Designed for metal roofs - minimizes flash rust when rinsed promptly.
- Rinses or scrapes clean, leaving a profile ready for recoating.
- Private-label capable with custom viscosity, color, and evaporation rate.
Preparation: Mask adjacent surfaces not being stripped. Protect drains and vegetation. Wear appropriate PPE. Test a small area to confirm dwell time and substrate compatibility.
Application: Do not dilute. Stir if settled. Apply a heavy, even coat by brush, roller, or squeegee, targeting 10–30 wet mils depending on film build. Work in manageable sections. Ideal surface temperature is 60–85°F; acceptable range 50–95°F. Keep out of direct sun when possible.
Dwell: Allow 15–60 minutes for lift, longer for thicker or colder conditions. Do not let the gel dry; rewet gelled areas with fresh product if needed to maintain active dwell.
Removal: Once coating wrinkles or blisters, scrape or squeegee to waste. Follow with a cold- to warm-water rinse; use a pressure washer (2,000–3,000 psi) where appropriate. Repeat on remaining residues. After stripping, detergent-wash and rinse to remove solvent residues before prep and recoating.
Cleanup and disposal: Collect all lifted coatings and rinsate per local regulations. Clean tools with an appropriate solvent cleaner, then detergent wash.
- Removes typical 5–10 mil plastisol in one pass under moderate conditions.
- Cuts labor hours per 1,000 sq ft by up to 35% versus thin liquids.
- Reduces vertical run-off waste by up to 70% compared to non-gelled removers.
- Fewer than 25% of panels require a second pass in typical roof work.
- Delivers a rinse-clean surface ready to prime within the same shift.
